Glory Before The World

The Glory Before The World—Yahusha

The pre-existence of Yahusha is a powerful truth. It lifts our eyes to His eternal nature and the depth of His love and obedience.

Many people today think Yahusha’s existence with the Father before the world began was only an idea or plan in the mind of Elohim, not a real, personal, relational fellowship. But Yahusha Himself prayed something far more intimate.

Let’s walk through the Scriptures together and allow the Ruach to illuminate the personal glory and fellowship that existed before creation.

Yahusha’s Own Prayer

John 17:1-5 (TS2009)

  • Jhn 17:1 יהושע said these words, and lifted up His eyes to the heaven, and said, “Father, the hour has come. Esteem Your Son, so that Your Son also might esteem You,

  • Jhn 17:2 as You have given Him authority over all flesh, that He should give everlasting life to all whom You have given Him.

  • Jhn 17:3 “And this is everlasting life, that they should know You, the only true Elohim, and יהושע Messiah whom You have sent.

  • Jhn 17:4 “I have esteemed You on the earth, having accomplished the work You have given Me that I should do.

  • Jhn 17:5 “And now, esteem Me with Yourself, Father, with the esteem which I had with You before the world was.”

Yahusha speaks of the esteem/glory He shared with the Father before the world existed. It is a relational reality Yahusha longed to return to. This is not merely foreknowledge or a blueprint. It is the glory of personal presence and intimate fellowship with Yahuah.

The Word Was With Elohim John 1:1-3, 14 (TS2009)

  • Jhn 1:1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with Elohim, and the Word was Elohim.

  • Jhn 1:2 He was in the beginning with Elohim.

  • Jhn 1:3 All came to be through Him, and without Him not even one came to be that came to be.

  • Jhn 1:14 And the Word became flesh and pitched His tent among us, and we saw His esteem, esteem as of an only brought-forth of a father, complete in favour and truth.

The Word who became flesh was already in a face-to-face relationship with the Father; walking in unbroken fellowship before anything was created and through Him all things came into being. The Greek (and the sense in Hebrew thought) of “with Elohim” carries an intimate, face-to-face relational presence.

Right here I’d like to share a personal thought… Think of “the Word” as His child; His personal Son. His Word as a living spiritual being, distinct yet one with the Father in perfect unity. They are separate in person-hood, yet so intimately united. Maybe it’s not in the way we humans think of a being, or possibly can even imagine this possibility... because YAH’s ways are far superior to our own understanding.

Have you ever considered this?

Scripture tells us the Word Is Active and Living:

  • Hebrews 4:12 “For the word of Elohim is living and active, sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even to the division of soul and spirit, of joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.”

This created being, His Word, existed prior to the world, and His Word became flesh… so that we could have a relational relationship. This was our only way to truly comprehend YAH’s ways, to relate to Him (the Son, Yahusha) who shared our own human nature/likeness.

And another thought came to mind — is not the Word and Wisdom one in the same?

Here we read Wisdom Rejoicing Before Yahuah (Proverbs 8 – a clear type/shadow of the pre-existent Son) Proverbs 8:22-31 (TS2009)

  • Pro 8:22 “יהוה possessed me, The beginning of His way, As the first of His works of old.

  • Pro 8:23 “I was set up ages ago, at the first, Before the earth ever was.

  • Pro 8:24 “When there were no depths I was brought forth, When there were no springs heavy with water.

  • Pro 8:25 “Before mountains were sunk, Before the hills, I was brought forth,

  • Pro 8:26 “Before He had made the earth and the fields, Or the first dust of the world.

  • Pro 8:27 “When He prepared the heavens, I was there, When He inscribed a circle on the face of the deep,

  • Pro 8:28 “When He set the clouds above, When He made the fountains of the deep strong,

  • Pro 8:29 “When He gave to the sea its law, So that the waters would not transgress His mouth, When He inscribed the foundations of the earth,

  • Pro 8:30 “Then I was beside Him, a master workman, And I was His delight, day by day Rejoicing before Him all the time,

  • Pro 8:31 “Rejoicing in the world, His earth; And my delights were with the sons of men.”

Wisdom was brought forth before the works of old, daily Yahuah’s delight, rejoicing always before Him as the foundations of the earth were laid. This is joyful, a relational presence and not a cold abstraction.

The Son was truly Active in Creation:

Colossians 1:15-17

  • Col 1:15  who is the likeness of the invisible Elohim, the first-born of all creation.

  • Col 1:16  Because in Him were created all that are in the heavens and that are on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or rulerships or principalities or authorities – all have been created through Him and for Him.

  • Col 1:17  And He is before all, and in Him all hold together.

We see the the Supremacy of Elohim’s Son in Hebrews 1:1-2 (TS2009)

  • Heb 1:1 Elohim, having of old spoken in many portions and many ways to the fathers by the prophets,

  • Heb 1:2 has in these last days spoken to us by His Son, whom He has appointed heir of all things, through whom also He made the ages.

The Son was not a passive idea. He was the active, relational Agent through whom Yahuah created and sustains all things.

Echoes in the Ancient Writings

Even in writings circulating among YAH’s people before Yahusha’s time (the Apocrypha, including fragments among the Dead Sea Scrolls), we see the idea/reveal of a pre-existent, exalted “Son of Man” figure.

-1 Enoch 48:2-3, 5-6 (Book of Parables/Similitudes):

  • 48:2 “In that hour was this Son of man invoked before the Lord of spirits, and his name in the presence of the Ancient of days.

  • 48:3 Before the sun and the signs were created, before the stars of heaven were formed, his name was invoked in the presence of the Lord of spirits. A support shall he be for the righteous and the holy to lean upon, without falling; and he shall be the light of nations.

  • 48:5 Therefore the Elect and the Concealed One existed in his presence, before the world was created, and for ever.

  • 48:6 In his presence [he existed], and has revealed to the saints and to the righteous the wisdom of the Lord of spirits…”

-Wisdom of Solomon 7–9 (Apocrypha, CEPHER):

Wisdom is portrayed as sitting by the throne of Elohim, an effulgence, the bright, radiant splendor and brilliance of His glory, present with Him from the beginning, and actively involved in making all things.

-4Q246 (Dead Sea Scrolls):

The “Son of God” text speaks of a coming figure who “will be called the son of God… son of the Most High,” with an eternal kingdom. This shows that exalted, divine-like messianic expectations, including heavenly pre-existence, were alive in Hebraic thought before Yahusha walked the earth.

Why This Matters

While some view these passages as only a plan in Elohim’s mind, the repeated personal language resists that with the following verbiage contained in the scriptures:

• “With You” (John 17:5)

• “With Elohim” (John 1:1-2)

• “Daily His delight, rejoicing always before Him” (Proverbs 8:22-31)

• “Hidden in His presence before creation” (1 Enoch 48)

This most assuredly paints a picture of a real, intimate fellowship in glory with Yahuah. Glory that Yahusha left…left, in order to accomplish the work of redemption, and to which He prayed to return to.

This truth truly magnifies the wonder of the incarnation...The One who walked in glory with the Father, humbled Himself, became flesh, finished the work, and now intercedes for us at the right hand of the Father.

It calls us to obedience, a need and desire for deeper study of the Torah and Scriptures, and joyful worship; not just mental agreement, but living as those who know the One who was with Yahuah, from the beginning.

May the Ruach haQodesh open the eyes of our understanding as we search the Scriptures.

Well brothers and sisters, please know this is my understanding, and I’m not saying my way is right; but if this resonates with you, share it in your fellowship for discussion. Meditate on these passages side by side. Test everything against the whole counsel of Yahuah’s Word.

May Yahuah bless you and keep you. May He make His face shine upon you and give you shalom.

Walk in the light of the One who was with the Father before the world began and who now lives in us by His Ruach.

Shalom
